Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung

Stressing the Importance of Funding Global Health R&D - In 2012, Sustainability Consult was hired to raise awareness of the Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung (DSW) campaign advocating for continued EU investment in R&D for poverty-related and neglected diseases (PRND).

DSW is a German NGO that raises awareness and conducts advocacy dialogue on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and on the linkages between population dynamics, health, poverty, environmental protection and sustainable development at national and international levels.

Through social media and traditional media outreach, including media support and a press release around an event in the European Parliament to launch the Policy Cures study ‘Saving Lives and Creating Impact: EU Investment in Poverty-Related and Neglected Diseases’, Sustainability Consult helped highlight the issue of poverty-related and neglected diseases to the European media. Additional media relations were done around the vote on Global Health R&D policy under the EU research framework Horizon 2020. The campaign’s results included a Viewpoint column in Science Business.
